SpyDie,

I think is the option that is favored.

GR@PH;<'S   :Hammys pint:
press Enter then have a Brandy then if the problem is still there have another Brandy
Q: does it work
A: It does seem to for a few hours at least.

The files are kind of large eh ?

I have two that GR@PH;<'S  made but smaller.

This one is culled ( every second frame deleted ) and it's 225 Kb but as you can see the cooker isn't quite the same.

This one is optimized, less quality but there arent that many colors anyway so you don't see much of a difference, 309 Kb.

SpyDie

Ah right sorry, my fault. The coloured one is there now. Any thoughts on the optimized images narov has made?
Beta. Software undergoes beta testing shortly before it's released. Beta is Latin for 'still doesn't work.'

Ripley

The reason I asked about the 358x91 size was that it appears only one "graphic"/header can be displayed on
the 2 new themes, whereas we can have 2 on the other themes.
In terms of Slick Pro header, using the gold letters, I do like that the best  :mitch:
But was wondering if we could stretch that header more to the right to fill up space ( blank space on the right) by making it go beyond 358 and look more balanced at the top?
If not, then the 358x91 header looks a bit scrunched to me w/ the gold Landzdown and the cooker, or is it just me?  :beg:

Now, narov posted 2 blanks for Slick Pro earlier in this thread.  One all black blank and one blank w/ a
wingy wangy thing in the top left corner.
So narov, if you put the header in the all black blank, wouldn't you have more room for spacing
between Landzdown letters and the cooker, w/o competing w/ the wingy wangy?

As far as the header offered for the Dilber theme:
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i246/moedfoo/Photobucket/Lzd_dilber_1.gif...it looks great w/ the
blue & silver, but to me clashes with the other colors in Dilber for sure.

<I've saved a copy of all 4 of the new headers created here to a Word doc, then opened each theme to
get a better perspective on maybe 1 or 2 headers that could be used across all themes. This way when I have
say, Dilber w/ light red chosen, I can open the Word doc and see how all the headers look w/ it.
Isn't that how you all are doing it too?  Or am I just revealing the itsy bitsy anal side to my personality?  :hysterical: >

That Dilber theme is hard to blend a header it seems.  The one there now works cuz it's black & grey...neutral colors.  Maybe for the same reasons, this one http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i246/moedfoo/980fb474.gif would be do-able there?  It's hard to tell at my end, but at least we'd keep the cooker.

And narov, you are complicating matters here, with adding that new one for the default theme
BUT, now that I look at it I AGREE! This http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i246/moedfoo/Photobucket/Lzd_default_1.gif does seem to look better than what we have in the default theme.  As well as working with the themes Babylon & Classic YaBB SE theme, but not for Zone Blue.  Ugh!
Regardless, adding this change would effect the most forum viewers...it might be worth it to explore this tweak?

Ripley

Now maybe other forums have this many "theme" choices, dunno, but here I go on the other themes

Zone Blue has always been my fav...cuz it's stunning & dramatic.  If I were site owner, this would be
my default them...BUT I have major functionality probs when I view the forum w/ this theme & don't use it.  I can see all avatars, but many smileys/graphics are red x's in this theme and I can see the same fine w/ other themes.  And the ones that do show frequently have white jagged edges around the graphics/smileys.  And then, w/ the list of users online, if a user name is blue (staff=many) I can't read the names.
I wonder if the 3-4 ppl using this theme have the same probs. as me?

Babylon is cleaning looking w/ a mostly white backgrnd/easy on the eye colors, and as I said above would look nice w/ the new default header narov put out there, but I can't figure many, if any differences with the default theme.
I wonder if the 8-9 ppl using this theme like it for a reason I can't ascertain?

Classic YaBB SE seems almost the same to me as Babylon in terms of being clean looking w/ a mostly white backgrnd/easy colors, and as I said above would look nice w/ the new default header narov put out there, BUT you can't see the users online, just the users active in the last 15 mins.
I wonder if the one person using this theme can see the users online?

Maybe a POLL would provide better info and give SpyDie an easier way to provide LzD members input on theme changes/reductions?  As well as determine whether the "other" themes are worth even spending time on.
I do like the looks of Dilber multi-color & Slick Pro, and am using Slick now, but not many others have switched.

We already have somewhat of a POLL w/ the statistics recorded of members in the default versus the 25-30 other members in the other themes?

I for one am hoping this topic isn't too distracting from our goal as security forum, specifically, SpyDie's time it takes to "maintain" theme requests.  But, I also appreciate the time/creations graphics ppl have taken to put forth ideas to accomplish this and have our forum look "web professional" and maintain our logo in the process.

I don't know enough to comment on the culled/optimized headers and where that helps.

But these were my "comments."  Hopefully, they are helpful in sorting out this process

QuoteI've saved a copy of all 4 of the new headers created here to a Word doc

Hunh ?

I think that if you make the pics wider than the space that is allocated in the template you'll end up pushing out the width of the whole page Ripley. It depends on the template too, some have images that are in two or more pieces and in gif format so they can stretch or shrink according to the screen resolution the viewer is using.

QuoteI am guessing that is the max, otherwise it'll cause the forum not to align right in the browser page (so you would have to scroll across the screen to view all the post etc, it would just generally look out of place).

That "wingy wangy thing" was in the original that was there from the start, I erased it out in that other blank, and your right there would be more room on that one, I'll have to try something with it.

Cull and optimize are just ways to cut down the size (Kb's) of the animation so the page will load faster for those on slower connections. Cull is just deleting a number of frames to make it smaller and optimize is lowering the number of colors/quality to make it smaller.

Quotefor those on slower connections.

Yeah, that's me...so I'm all for this culling/optimizing.

Not knowing all the graphics tricks you all do, I approach it mostly visually, I guess.
To get an idea of how the headers look on different themes, I open a theme, or color of theme, and then open my doc w/ the headers on it.
Like here's the Dilber theme w/ light Navy:

odidio

Yup that works  :mitch: :mitch:.

( Been a while since I used Word like that, lol )
