Does anyone know what happened to the Castle Cops website.  I have not been able to access that site for several days now.

Anyone know why?

I just posted an update there 5 minutes ago. As previously stated, the site loads slow sometimes but Paul is aware of that. Other than that is is working normally.

Thanks guys....I still am unable to get Castle Cops.  I cleaned all references to it out of my registry, checked all
my internet security to make sure it was not blocked, etc.  Not sure what is happening.  It tries to connect then pops up the normal message saying "this site is temporarily down" or something close to that.

I will keep trying to resolve the issue.  Perhaps if I try to reach it using the real address.  I will try that.

Thanks for your responses.

Hi cbuprof :)
I had the same problem being unable to get Castle Cops 1 week ago,but it came back. The site has been a bit slow loading up the last past 8 days from time to time. I don't know if you use IE, but if you do so, try and download Firefox and see if you can get Castle Cops that way. Have you tried to restore the system to a previous configuration?

To all

Thanks for your help and suggestions.  I downloaded and installed Firefox and it did not help.  BUT....I like the new Firefox a lot.  It has really improved since I last used it.  At least something good has come of this mess.

I also reinstalled Net Framework 1.1 because I had eliminated it thinking I no longer had apps that used it.  Still no help. MY wife's machine also will not access it.  ANd she used a different firewall.  Maybe my ISP, but it is Road Runner and they say nothing there is causing it.  So I will just forget about it for a day or two.

Oh  well, thanks again.  Maybe I will see something that clicks and get it fixed.  Until then I will use Lanzdown as
my only source for info.

Thanks again.

Hey cbuprof  :)

No problem here either.  Let us know of your progress.

Good luck!

cbuprof,

I've had the same problem as you have for the past five or six days.  No CastleCops either!  Neither IE or FF will resolve to the site.

Strange thing is, you guessed it, my ISP is RoadRunner as well.  Had a couple of friends on RR try to reach CC also, but no soap.

Maybe there is something up w/RoadRunner?   :uhm:

sounds like rr needs to dump its dns cache.

if you are running windows xp, you can try this from the command prompt:

ipconfig /flushdns

ps
that happy little command also solves a vast array of other internet/networking weirdness.

I am on satelite which unfortunately is the only hi-speed available where I am but anyway, I also use that command when I am having problems but with the word "renew" instead of "flushdns" which renews the IP including flushing the DNS and a couple of other chores. It works for a lot other things as you say.

Already been there, done that with no joy!

Maybe RR needs a little gentle persuasion.  :smash:

Update on RR

I contacted them, they sent me a three page email suggesting all the obvious things which we all have
already tried. No mention on their part of any dns problem at their end.  Perhaps it is coincidence that we all
use RR and have the same problem.  They obviously think so.  Oh well, I will continue to try and thanks again
to all of you who have tried to help.
