The nearest city will be close enough....

Temmu

looks like the mythical shangri-la...
n. india? tibet?

Shax

T'ain't mythical, Temmu! And yes, as close as I've seen to Shangrila...astounding place! But not India or Tibet...and I need a city name, not a country! :tease:

Eric the Red

Taktshang monastery, near Paro, Bhutan.

Correct, ETR! (It's also known as The Tiger's Nest)

Your turn....

Eric the Red

Where is this building, and why is it so clean?

Temmu

---deleted guess---
it is so clean because, look closely, the window washer is there...

north of the 40th parallel?

Temmu

are we then north of 60th parallel?  say oslo, norway, or st petersburg, russia?

Eric the Red

Yes, we are, but in neither of those locations, this one is a bit warmer.

Temmu

ok, warmer...

are we in iceland?

Eric the Red

But of course, it's about time that you revisited my homeland. Now, can you narrow it down to a specific location?

Temmu

wow, eric the red, that was a very tough one to find:

http://www.mannvit.com/GeothermalEnergy/GeothermalPowerPlants/GeothermalProject-Hellisheidi/

... and i think the answer to your, "why is it so clean" is that it's steam!

i googled images for each of
Reykjavík
Akureyri
Garðabær
Hafnarfjörður
Keflavík
Kópavogur
Reykjanesbær

with no luck at all!

then i tried architecture iceland - and got something that looked like it, but had to google yet more to get the definitive picture in the link above.

ps
in my googling, i could not help but notice:  goodness, there are lots of beautiful women in iceland!

Eric the Red

Temmu,

Well done, I thought that I was being a bit cryptic but you saw through me. Another good link for this project is the following:

Quotegoodness, there are lots of beautiful women in iceland!

That is so true .... mind that you are not dazzled by that beauty (a phenomenon which normally manifests itself in being the owner of a Viking pattern jumper that you can't remember purchasing; the other route to pullover possession involves Brennivin and a tell-tale headache!).

Where to next?
