Thanks,

Now, this unassuming looking building had a huge impact on the Industrial Revolution (and contributed to impacts on others!). Where is it, what is its function and which famous engineer is connected with it? Why would Henry Ford have benefitted from this building?

Eric the Red,

press Enter then have a Brandy then if the problem is still there have another Brandy
Q: does it work
A: It does seem to for a few hours at least.

Is it the Henry Ford Museum.

No, it's a bit before his time (nearly as old as you  :muahaha: )

So, this one has you stumped!

Time for a clue? There is a tenuous link to God's Wonderful Railway.

They are one and the same but what is the link with the mystery place that is the subject under discussion?

No, this predates him and has more to do with Britannia giving the French a good seeing to!

is it where the garment workers were granted shorter work days and children provided some modicum of legal protection? (although the law was never enforced...)  jimmy hendrix sung about that in, 'all along the watch tower' me thinks.

No.

No reason to get excited
The thief, he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who think that life is but a joke
But you and I, we've been through that
And that is not our fate
So let us not talk falsely now
Because the hour is getting late

So, time for a clue. Think about the person who was the Engineer who oversaw the construction of the GWR. Where was he born and where did his drive, passion and inspiration come from?

woolwich dockyard where isambard made blocks for the royal navy?

Eric the Red

Close but no cigar! We are not in Woolwich and it is not Isambard but a close relative, Would you care to try again?

i can't imagine this to be right, isambard's brother in law,  benjamin hawes, soap making factory??

Eric the Red

You are right, it's wrong. I know that the French have a reputation for poor hygiene but we didn't score a massive Victory over them by hurling blocks of soap!
