ah, draft is the right word, but the wrong context...
this "draft" has nothing to do with air flow or movement...

you would say, 'to draft'

this was done on paper, now almost exclusively on pc & / or mainframe...

and...

of course, many companies do drafting on pc/mainframe so the term "cad" - google same.
the drafting curve assists draftsmen in making smooth continuous curves to large for the box of ships or railroad curves. - google same.
