win7 update question

i just got a new notebook, with win7 Home on it.
- there are no recover disks, of course.

Question: if i buy the Microsoft disks to upgrade to win7 PRO- can i use those disks (the purchased ones), to do a "full" re-install, of the entire original OS?

Hi, babyoh.

Since it appears you will be return the new notebook, you may want to consider upgrading it at the point of purchase.  When you do have a working machine, I suggest creating a repair disk before making any changes:  Create a system repair disc.
