Please download the All in one Repair Tool from Bleeping Computer.

  • Disable your antivirus software so that it will not interfere with the changes.
  • Ignore Steps 1-3.
  • Click on the tab for Step 4 and click Create to create a new "System Restore" point and Backup to back up the Registry.
  • After that is completed, go to the "Start Repairs" tab and run it with the following boxes checked:
        Reset Registry Permissions
        Reset File Permissions
        Register System Files
        Repair WMI
        Repair Internet Explorer
        Repair MDAV/MS Jet
        Repair Hosts Files
        Remove Policies Set By Infections
        Repair Winsock & Dns Cache
        Repair Windows Updates
Set Windows Services To Default Startup

Hi, klov43921.

Please try the portable version that will run from a USB stick:  Windows Repair (All-in-One) Portable Download.

ok. I was able to run the portable version.  Was able to reinstall IE. My Outlook Express is working correctly. I was able to remove all the Java programs.

My Norton 360 still will not run a full scan.

Corrine

Excellent!

Is Norton updating?  Do you have access to your Norton license information?

Yes I ran the update but it still won't go through the entire scan.  I have a Norton account which should have my entire license info.

Corrine

You can delete the Farber Service Scanner from your desktop as well as the flush.bat and ESET Services Repair Tool.

You'll either need to get support from Norton or uninstall and reinstall the product.  See Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product.

Please keep me updated on the progress.
