Thank you, Donna!  I'm so glad you were able to step in.  Please also thank Essexboy for his willingness to allow you help from here while in training.   (I'm doing a bit tonight -- but sticking with things that don't require heavy-duty thinking.)

Panos, you may also want to suggest to Georgia that she pass along to her niece and nephew's parents that they should have a "Standard User" account and not be allowed to use the new TOMAS_FAMILY Admin account.  Brief instructions are available in my blog article here:  Using a Standard/Limited User Account.

Hi Corrine,

I was more than happy to help and I will definitely pass along your thanks to Essexboy.

Excellent advice! This is how I have my spare laptop set up for my daughter to use, though I have the Admin account password protected so she can not access it.

I have a feeling that Miriam's previous account prior to reinstall was created as an account with Administrative privileges. The OTL logs did display that the account was logged in as Administrator:

Computer Name: 123456789 | User Name: ?a??aµ | Logged in as Administrator

Corrine and Donna,

I thank You so much! I have no words to express my gratitude for all you have done. THANK YOU.

The computer works fine now, although after the system restore I had to follow again Donna's last instruction about open candy and tune up utilities.

Two last things I did:
I uninstalled Adobe Reader, and installed Sumatra.
I created a standard account for the two kids.

Now, I am waiting for Georgia and Mariam to receive their new laptop! They are also grateful to you!

P.S. Corrine, I am looking forward to hearing your news. :rose:
