7 Zip WARNING!!

Corrine posted about CONDUIT on the thread before this. Now here's this:

WARNING!!

7 Zip is now in the MALWARE-distribution business!

If you download the 7Zip installer from the 7Zip site, 7zip.com, it comes bundled with piles of difficult to remove opt-out malware!

This MALWARE includes:
Weather software
CONDUIT browser infestations
Crossrider
SpeedUpMyPC - Uniblue
ValueApps
and maybe others I missed.
you have to be pretty savy to remove all of that payload.
you have been warned.

Although when I did a search for 7-Zip in Bing, the first site that came up was the .com link, just below that is the link labeled "official site" -- 7-Zip - Official Site.  A Google search showed the .org site as the first link:   http://www.7-zip.org/

The Official Site is clean, with no unwanted garbage.

Deception & Apologies

I have in vain attempted to repeat myself with the malware attached to 7zip fiasco.
I cannot duplicate the download link in my search in google.
of course, my apologies to all!

the correct site now displays, and (surprise!) does not look like the fake 7zip site from which my malware came.

warning! if i, who am uber careful about downloading anything, can be deceived, god help the masses!!
