Hey folks,
I've been playing around with making a scrabble board using the table feature in the LzD editor.  But I don't see a way to put on a border (around all cells and whole table).  Can it be done?

If not, I'll try making a table using HTML and either paste it into the editor, or else, what's the # (Insert Code) button?  Does that allow me paste the HTML itself into the editor?  Or do I need to use this other...is it bbc code? or whatever?  If so, where could I go to learn this code?

Thanks -- just playing!

Hey Brynn,
Looks like a fun project.
Not quite sure if this will help in what you are looking for, but Eric the Red had provided the link below, which was helpful to me on the BBcode stuff.
The other stuff you ask about is over my head.

QuoteYou may wish to have a look at this link for BBcode in relation to posting images.

Brynn

Thanks ripley.
Too bad, the site you recommended is down at this moment.  But I will try again later.

I'm thinking tables also, but getting them laid out isn't easy.  :)

This little table is made with html and pasted into the message.  Can anyone else see the table?

Cool!
This might actually work.  I'll post a full board when I finish it.
One step at a time ;)

Brynn!   :party1:

My curiosity is killing me! :hysterical:  Where is it? :?: What is it? :uhm:

I'm about as good at scrabble as I am in hangman :moreevil: ...so bring 'er on! :muahaha:

There is suspense in the air anticipating your creation!

Brynn

Yikes!
Well, one of my first warnings about this game was going to be -- it can incite intense competition!  So sounds like you're well-suited for this, ripley ;)

Ok, I'm going to keep this in the Testing forum, in case unexpected glitches arise  :tease:

Spoken not a bit too soon  :angrypc:  grrr...

I don't get it.  My little test tables pasted in perfectly.  But for some reason, I can't get the full-size table to paste in.  The only differences between the little ones and the finished one -- finished one has borders, 4 tiny smileys, background colors, and the cells are empty, instead of the ??'s.

Hhmmm.....does anyone have a clue here?  Like the little test tables, the full-size one is created using html.  Are there any html tags which aren't supported in the LzD forums?

Well, sorry guys.  Guess this needs more work -- best not hold the breath!  Any comments and/or suggestions welcome :D

Hey Brynn  :D

I clearly don't get what you are doing, but that is not unusual for me :smash:

But maybe if you post what you have, then we can give you more specific comments, or see better what solutions might help you complete this SCRABBLE EXTRAVAGANZA!

Waiting patiently

Oh dear

It looks like the text within a table (made with html) can be pasted into LzD messages, still in the organization imposed by the table/cells, but any borders or background colors are stripped from the table.  Gee, like the regular Scrabble, this game really needs the border delineating the cells.

Let's see if I can fake borders using _ and | or l
Something tells me it won't really work, but what the heck -- I'll give it a try.
BRB

Oh, almost forgot, ripley.  The entire problem is that I can't post it.  I've completed the table which looks like a scrabble board, but apparently borders can't be posted into these forums.  We could do without the background color, but not the borders.

GR@PH, very interesting, but not sure it helps solve the problem.  What am I missing?
