Well, I've tried everything I can think of, and this particular game I've been trying to build, just won't work in the LzD forums.  What would be needed are 1 - borders on/in tables - either borders on tables created with the Table feature, or the ability to paste in a table with borders.  And 2 - copy/paste colors - the ability to copy colored text from a posted message, paste it into a new reply window (into the text editor) without losing the color.

Btw, I was able to make an ugly, but functional table-like structure with strings of _ and |.  And by coloring groups of those characters, I created the different types of scoring cells, the cells which double or triple scores in the Scrabble game.  But unexpectedly, I found that after I post a message containing this game board, then copy the game board from the posted message and paste it into a new reply window - ie into the text editor, (a necessary step in the game), the color is lost.

Hhmm, in case I'm not making myself clear, below is this ugly game board.  Picture it with several words, crossword puzzle style, you know, like Scrabble.  Well, ok, I'll put in a word, for those who might not see what's intended.  Now, if it were your turn, you would copy the board (the whole thing), paste it into the editor, type in the letters of your word, and post it.  Unfortunately, either the Copy doesn't copy the color, or the Paste doesn't paste color (I don't know which).

So anyway, sorry this didn't work out :(  I appreciate everyone's patience with all my experiments here!   It is a fun game...but fortunately there are lots of other games to play, here at LzD :)

Brynn,
thats a shame could you not put it in to paint then upload it to say ImageShack than post it here or do you think that would not work.

Brynn,

Ok I see now...if a person copies & pastes the brd in their reply the color is lost and they would have to add color tags all over again.
And if they choose to use the Quote button instead, the color tags ARE there, but ya get pretty bug  eyed looking at it.
I have that issue with the hangman game...but I can deal with just the underline tags.  At least, now anyways  :hysterical:

I am sorry this project didn't work out for ya. :(  Even creating that temp scrabble brd in this thread was ALOT of work.

Maybe Graph's idea will work...it's beyond me.  Thnx for your efforts on this Brynn!  :flowers:

Thanks guys.
GR@PH, of course, I could easily add the game board to a post by turning it into an image.  But for a player to take their turn, they have to copy the game board from the previous player's post, paste it into their LzD editor, add their word, and post it again.  But if the game board is an image, in order to add text, each player would have to have a graphics program capable adding text.  Hhm, well, even MS Paint can do that, but I'm not sure if that would make it too much trouble to be fun?  Oh, well all the players would need webspace too.  So it would probably make it too complicated to go the image route.  But thanks for your thoughts and comments anyway :)
