There was an update posted to the gHacks article, ky331.  You'll need to reverse the about:config changes and then remove it from the Bookmarks menu via customize.  Then make the about:config adjustment again.

Corrine,

I did that.   In fact, before ever seeing the gHacks article, I had already gone to the "Hamburger" icon to select Customize, and I dragged the Pocket icon off the toolbar [placing it along with other "unused" icons available in the customized area].

Following that, upon learning about the gHacks trick, I implemented that as well.

But "View Pocket List" is still present in my bookmarks menu (and seemingly locked there).

Okay, I finally figured it out:

When you hit Customize, and drag the Pocket button off FF's toolbar, there are two potential areas to which you can move it:

There are the "primary" tools & features area, on the right-hand side, surrounded by a blue border.   That's where I initially moved the Pocket button, and doing so leaves the "View Pocket List" entry in one's bookmarks.

But there's also the larger Additional Tools and Features area, on the left.   If you move the Pocket button here, then it will remove the "View Pocket List" entry from one's bookmarks.

My 'Pocket' disappeared completely from the Customize page, I eventually removed it from Bookmarks using about:config input 'pocket' > bottom result and removed it from the UI entry manually.

Can't see the entry name now to give it, doesn't show up listed in about:troubleshooting >  Important Modified Preferences either.

OK, found the name = browser.uiCustomization.state

Personally, I won't update until the official release and Release Notes are available.

Nor will I but it does allow for the eager Beavers a sneak peek - (all the caveats) are there.  You don't run Firefox as a Browser, last I checked

Firefox may not be my regular browser but I do keep it updated.

I was under the impression you had stopped running Firefox completely and had moved over to the Pale Moon platform altogether.

Despite the hoopla - reviews are not good as it would seem many are not pleased with what Mozilla has been serving up and continue to serve up.

If it continues this way - I personally will be looking for a Gecko platform Browser other than Firefox.

Same here, but then again I always keep everything patched and updated whether it is a primary program or not  :rose:

I don't use Firefox nor Internet Explorer but both are on all Win 7 computers and I too keep them fully patched.
I use Palemoon in Windows all the time.
In linux I am using SeaMonkey for the first time. It has more than I need because it is a suite but it reminds me of the way FF used to be so I'm very happy with it.

Those looking for a FF replacement, I suggest giving Palemoon and Seamonkey a look to see if either works for you.

I fully endorse plodr's comments completely.  I run many different browsers in rotation (except for Internet Explorer and Chrome) on a Windows XP computer and keep all of them updated as Corrine, Winchester, and plodr have indicated.  But as far as Gecko-engine browsers are concerned Pale Moon and SeaMonkey win hands down.  I have set SeaMonkey to be my default browser.

It is now amazing that at this point even though SeaMonkey is a full suite of programs as plodr mentioned (like the old Netscape), its download size is now smaller than Firefox!  It did not used to be this way.  Firefox comes in at 39 MB and SeaMonkey is at 31 MB.  Pale Moon at 17 MB comes in at near what Firefox used to be before they went berserk with their accelerated update and revision schedule.  When the browsers are actually running SeaMonkey seems to carry the lowest memory footprint of the 3 which is why it is now my default browser.

So yes like Corrine said I will be updating Firefox when the official release appears.  I will not be an "eager beaver!"  (Smile)
