Windows Update does work ??

Just finished updating the six updates (I skipped 3118401).  Thanks so much.

Here are the other two pages.

The page dated 4/12/2016 only has six updates (I put a extra link is at the top 375KB, by mistake).

The page dated 5/10/2016 has 14 total.  It one you don't see is for IE9 for Windows Vista (KB3154070)  size 12.9 MB.

April 2016 if I ignore the NET 3 , there are a total of 5 updates. I'll have to search because I don't see any NET framework 3 patches in April.

If the last one doesn't install, hide it. I had to search and ended up seeing installation problems and breaking things (Win 7). I'm not sure if it causes any problems in Vista.


Please give me a KB number for the NET framework 3 patch. It probably is not from April.

1)  During my updates the two updates below showed the message:
"The update does not apply to your system".
3156016 and 3153199

2)  Under your Important list:
The first two (3150220 and 3153171) showed the same id=52059

Other than that, I got all the updates installed!  I didn't use the 3 (hide) at the end.

I have to assume that perhaps the two that said not applicable have been replaced by other updates. I'll need to look around in June, July, August, September and October so that might take some time.

In the meantime, after you install KB3153171 reboot then check for updates. Post what happens.

Looking at the bulletin for the Critical update 16-055

there are 3 updates listed. You got two of the three to install. 3156016 says something about 3D. Perhaps your computer doesn't have a card capable of this so that's why it doesn't apply. I really don't know why it was offered and then said it doesn't apply.

So if that has been installed, that's the reason the older update is not applicable for your computer.

I'm still trying to figure out 3156016.

1)  I updated KB3153171.  It worked.
2)  see the results (jpg) below.
3)  I tried the install KB3153199 and I got the answer below:
  "The update does not apply to your system."

Don't try to install 3153199 it has been replaced.

You need 3161664.

I still haven't a clue about 3156016. I spent time looking over all the newer graphics updates from June, July, August, September and October but none mentioned that is was a replacement for the one you have a problem with.

I also googled 3156016 but didn't find much for Vista.
