Where do I find the download files for WAR, Winpatrol and Privacy? I got a new computer and need to download the files. Thank you

It's been so long since they updated it, that I've been wondering if it's still safe to use.

I'm having trouble getting the WinPatrol & Ruiware pages to open, but I think the program can be downloaded at BleepingComputer https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/winpatrol/

Link seems to work, be careful of any suggested add-ons should they be offered before downloading.

If you have your license key information, you may be able to upgrade WinPatrol Free to WinPatrol Plus. 

WinPatrol WAR was a subscription service, only links I can find (MajorGeeks, etc) re-direct to the WinPatrol store, which isn't online.

WinPrivacy had a free version initially, but never used it, don't know if went subscription only or not.  Regardless, can't find any links for downloading.

The BC link isn't the most recent.  The site winchester73 listed does have the last update.

Sadly, I no longer have WinPatrol on my PC.  As far as I'm concerned, a security program not updated in over three years is probably not the best option.

I was thinking about unistalling it as well.  I've left it on, because there is something comforting about gettting notified about what Windows is up to with adding and disabling its stuffs, but like Corrine, I wonder how safe it really is now without any updates for so long.

Is there anything you need to do like reset it, or change settings before uninstalling?

No, there isn't anything you need to do, although I would create a restore point first.  Iif you have a licensed WinPatrol Plus, you'll want to make a note of the license before uninstalling it.

Thanks. I'm curious why I would need to document my license.   Do you have some hope that the license could be worth something at some point?

I've bought into these lifetime licenses before and had the company go out of business.  I'm still mad at Cheeselovers International.

If you ever decide to reinstall WinPatrol Plus, you'll need your license key.   8)

WinPatrol doesn't use signatures or definitions, so there really isn't anything that requires updating.  If it were still being actively supported, one could hope for new features, tweaks, etc.  Some folks still find the program useful as a startup manager, for taking a snapshot of critical system resources, or for providing alerts if any changes occur.

A program that required frequent updating and is no longer supported would be quickly outdated.  If a program did not require frequent updating, it can be used for a longer period of time.  IMO, WinPatrol is still 'safe' to use if you like what it does.

Ya, I basically use it as just a monitor for alerts.    I don't even have any programs in delayed start anymore.  If it really isn't any kind of danger, I would rather keep it.

I still use little Scottie but I have other security stuff as well. But I still hear its cute little bark when a program gets updated or added and I might not be sure what it is.

After all these years, it may be time for an end eventually of this fine program, I use the free one, by the way. I have checked other programs on the net and have yet to find any quite like Win Patrol. the only one I can think of is Autoruns but it just isn't the same.

Like this forum, I liked Freedomlist but all things, even our lives, must come to an end.

I'm not ready to give an RIP to Win Patrol--not yet.  ;D

If your only interested in monitoring at this point, check out these.
I use this one on multiple computers at home and work. It also has a function while monitoring the files and services on your computer, you can right click on one of those services or files and upload it to virustotal to check it for malicious activity. https://www.mitec.cz/tmx.html

I suspect you are out of luck and will have to find alternatives.  Even if you find a mirror download link that still works AND you have your license keys, those programs haven't been updated in 3 years and their usefulness is questionable.
