Debian Bookworm

I am still getting a lot of package upgrades in Debian Bookworm (the Testing version) but it seems pretty solid so far.
Earlier on changing to GNOME 40 and now 41 broke several Shell Extensions. I had to switch from Dash to Dock to Dash to Plank and go back to X from Wayland - all so I could have a dock with my favorite Applications on screen. Since I did that everything has been OK though.
If you want to try Debian GNOME as a new user I think I'd stay with Debian Stable. They won't be changing that one from GNOME 3.38.

I played around with Debian "Sid" a dozen years or so ago, but haven't had any 'Nix but Slackware on my system for a long time now.

You will continue to get floods of package upgrades in Bookworm for at least 18 months until it becomes the next Debian Stable. That's what Testing is for.
I switched back to stable Bullseye early this year after using siduction for many years and am ecstatic not to have eternal upgrades now. It is so peaceful!  8)
