Windows 10 is scheduled to reach end of support on October 14, 2025.  However, you can enroll your PC in Windows 10 Extended Security Updates and continue receiving security updates for one year. There are a number of articles about the process, with a simplified version at Major Geeks:

Once you are lucky enough to get the toggle to appear, you've got three ways to keep those updates coming:

1. Microsoft Account Sync (Free): Link your Microsoft account and sync your settings to OneDrive. This qualifies you for ESU at no cost.
2. Microsoft Rewards Points (Also Free): Redeem 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points instead of cash.
3. Pay $30: Don't want to mess with accounts or points? You can pay a one-time fee of $30 per PC.

One Microsoft account can extend ESU to up to 10 different PCs, making it a solid deal for households or power users with multiple machines.

You will see a toggle and the system will walk you through the support addition.

The above-mentioned toggle is included in the August security update, KB5063709.

Windows 10 ESU has been extended to October 12, 2027.  If you have not enrolled your Windows 10 computer in the ESU program yet, see the information in Windows 10 Consumer Extended Security Updates (ESU) in order to get security updates.

Apparently because there are still a lot of Windows 10 users. From Microsoft Windows Statistics (2026): Users, Market Share, Windows 11 Adoption & Key Facts:

I really like windows 10 it relatively stable and pretty reliable.
I also have a windows 11 laptop and have had  more problems with it than I think I've ever had with 10 Tho that being said windows 7 was a great system also.

Don't start me on vista.
