Hello,
Do I have to wrote in English here now? (not happy about that, but I will try)

Yesterday wy laptop worked perfectly as usual. But today (from the start) I get a little sound once a minute. It is low and sounds like pip, pip.(the same sound as when I close it down). But all control lamps shows OK, everything works OK, I can't find any problem. Even the battery lamp shows OK (but I use electric bla bla). I have closed down and started again, the pip i still there, once a minute.

I search everything (don't know much about computer though), and don't understand. I geuss this is a warning sound? For what? And what should I do?
I am afraid this will spoil my weekend :-(...

I have been a member before on your Swedish version and am very grateful for the help I got at that time. Thank you in advance if you try to help!

Biggan, Tjenare.

Die Hard may be of assistance if you feel that describing your problem in Swedish will be easier.  He is most knowledgeable, although I do not know how much he knows about laptops.

In the meantime, please provide more information about your laptop and the operating system (i.e., what brand laptop, how much available memory, is it Windows XP?).  Did you make any changes yesterday?  Have you installed any software?  Did you update any software?  Are there any other symptoms besides the "pip-pip" sound?

Hello Corinne,
Sorry I forgot to tell: It is a Toshiba 1800-700, Intel Pentium III, Windows ME
memory 120 (MB?).
I did not install anything since weeks, everything has been fine for years. OK, I know it is not new, bought it 2002, I think. But I like it a lot, surf and send emails :-)
