Would like detailed info on the Pale Moon browser
« on: April 05, 2014, 12:49:07 AM »
My apologies in advance if this topic has been covered previously, and if so, please redirect me to that thread.

I'm interested in learning more about the "Pale Moon" browser that Corrine mentions on her wonderful Security Garden site.
When I first got online I was using Netscape. I later looked at, and even tried once, Firefox. I now use IE and avoid Chrome.
What are the advantages of using Pale Moon; i.e., is it safer or better in some way than Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari?

Corrine, how can comments/questions be posted on Security Garden? I do not care to be involved with FB or Twitter, and sometimes might wish to ask a question there. It appears to be a comprehensive security related site. Very nice info on updates, etc.

Best wishes,

John

Hi, John.

At the very bottom of my Security Garden posts (past any "references" and the rose image), COMMENT is in all caps.  Note that because spammers love to post links as blog comments that I review all comments before adding them.  Of course, you can always ask questions here at Landzdown.

As I mentioned in my blog post, Pale Moon is based on the Firefox ESR 24 (Extended Service Release, "corporate" version).  If you use Firefox, you'll find it works with most of the same extensions.  We got into quite a discussion about Pale Moon a couple of months ago:  Pale Moon (Split from Firefox Ads Thread).  Feel free to ask questions there or here.  :)
