Good sites on Job Interview Skills?
« on: November 26, 2012, 07:11:16 PM »
I've been wondering why my and my coworkers hours have steadily been being cut down the last few months despite good sales during the same period.  Today upon finding they were hiring more people right after finding my hours cut worse than ever...I began getting seriously worried.  I've been a hard worker for this company for nearly 30 years...was it me or sales?

Went digging.

Sales are fine.
I'm still in good standing.

All the signs point to Obamacare.  I've been so busy this year with things that I didn't realize that one of the parts of that fiasco is that it makes it more economical for companies to hire only part-time employees and to downgrade even their best ones to part time.

So thanks to a program I didn't want any part of for the first time in nearly 30 years I'm going to need to go job hunting.  This current job was in fact my first and only job (I never needed another, I work hard and the company appreciated that.)  Now I do need to go job hunting and I'm terrified because I wasn't very good at the 'interviewing' stuff in the first place being shy and tongue-tied at first contacts.  The thought of having to go through the process several times more (and with drug testing now too...better stop taking herbs.)  Honestly, I'd rather be full time with NO health benefits than this.

Can someone recommend a good site for brushing up on interviewing skills?

(Btw, I got my job because the then interviewer took pity on me and gave me a chance for which I have been extremely grateful (and loyal) to that company for decades.  This is not their fault.  Doing this is the only way they can financially survive under the new law and they are not the only company scrambling to go from partially full time to nearly all part time.)
