How do you pronounce OMICRON
(1/1)
DR M:
I got surprised when I read these articles, because actually there is no correct answer about how to pronounce Omicron in there. :)

Things are simple.
As you know, Omicron is the 15th letter of the Greek alphabet. To pronounce it:
O >> As you say ON (without the N of course). But not as you say OLD or OH or OHH or AHH etc.
MI >> As you say the musical note MI
CRON >> As you say ... KRON ;D
Now try to say it. 8)
DR M:
I forgot to say that the emphasis is on the O.
OMICRON
In Greek: ΟΜΙΚΡΟΝ

Because I was used to micron from my math/maths background, of course I pronounced it incorrectly. (I said O - micron) Then I listened to a few YouTube pronunciation presentations.
British https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocqV72xqY0w
American https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UA40m7tn_WE
I always try to find a pronunciation that I can hear rather than read when presented with an unfamiliar word.
DR M:
The first Youtube video is fine. The second one no. :)
