Pet Pics! we love them so show them off
« on: August 31, 2009, 07:00:18 PM »
On several of the other forums I am on we on occasion start a thread with some pics of our pets, I love those.  It is such fun seeing them in funny pics or just doing their what they do best being couch potatoes LOL

Lets try to keep them small or thumbnailed for the dial up folks

This is my life, my precious Majic, Harlequin Great Dane.  He is having some pretty serious health issues right now since the move, he has developed a serious allergic reaction to something here and we do not know what.  He is a miracle dog since he is 11yrs old and Great Danes normally do not live past 7.

I'm sorry, but this is a bit big...you've seen her before, but she's the only pet I have (except for the kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos, echidnas, wedgetail eagles, wombats, none of whom will stay still long enough for me to photograph...)

It's Bess again!

It's ok no lashes
If you do think that a picture is to large then you can always rejuice the size of it.
you could either do it  on-line or you could use a program like Paint.NET [Free to use]

By the way Bess looks like an old softy.

Gr@ph...thanks for those links....will practise, I promise...your dog's name, please?!

Must know!

And Bess is NOT a softy...hard as nails, tough as old boots, mean as a...alright, bit of a sook, but she would protect me to the death (and vice versa). :Win73:

Shax,
Her name is Pippin, as she is the same as the dog in the TV program the kid's used to watch called Come out side.

Timely, R-C.  As it turns out, I used a few pictures of family pets to create a brief illustrative video.

Cast of Characters:
  • The video begins with our Border Collie, Jessie, sitting on a foot stool looking out the window.
  • Buddy is the big bruiser cat who often times thinks he is part dog.
  • The triumvirate, no longer with us, is Icy (white shepard who lived to be 17), Mishku (full size terrier of sorts) and Bear (an Akita with an incredible personality)
  • Mya is a Border Collie mix.  She considers anyone or anything within her view or hearing to be invading her territory.  (She includes incoming telephone calls encroaching her territory as well).
  • In the birdcage that Buddy is guarding is Bailey, our 26 year old cockatiel.  Keeping guard from the back of the chair is Tasha who crossed Rainbow Bridge last year.

Corrine that was great! Now with your terrific guidance I might give that a try.
Your animals are lovely, the one of the cat laying on the bird cage so reminded me of my Garfield kitty and my Dandy Bird (cockatiel also) they are both gone now but they did that kind of stuff. After Garfield got his ear and his nose tweaked real good by the bird for getting too close he decided being friends was better.

my sweet Dandy Bird we lost him only a few months before we moved.

Garfield, we had him for over 20+ years, just killed me when he passed away, dreaded kidney disease got all of my kitties.

I love the pictures that have been shared.  Let's see some more.  Our pets are such an important part of our family.

R-C, are you aware that Tom's(male) kitties must be fed soft food along with dry kitty mix.  This prevents the dreaded kidney disease.  Females do not require soft food in their diets.

yes, all of mine were quite old so the kidney disease was age related, one of them actually got hit with the tainted food which caused his kidney failure.  I had Garfield on daily IV fluids for  almost a year he did very well with the IV till the disease just progressed till nothing could help and it was time  to let go.  He would come let me know when it was time for us to do his IV and he was so good, just sit there and not move till the time was up and he knew exactly how long that should take.
They are so amazing.

Majic is at the vet today for xrays and some surgery to get biopsies to try to get a handle on his current condition so I am a big ole mess today.
