Title: TPBM - The Person Below Me
Post by: Skittles on February 19, 2006, 06:57:43 AM
Corrine tried this game a few months ago, but with different rules.  I thought we could try it again, but this time I thought we could play it the way I have seen it in many other forums.

The first person makes a comment, which I will start it below.....

After that the next person will answer the question with a yes or no and then ask another question for the person below them....so on and so forth.

Here are some examples....

"I think tpbm likes watermelon"

next poster replies...
"nope....I think tpbm has travelled abroad"

next poster replies...
"yes I have!".....i think tpbm likes flowers"

next poster replies....
"yes I do...I like tulips".....i think tpbm goes to bed early"

next poster replies...
"no I don't....tpbm has a laptop"

Okay now we will start.

I think TPBM hates malware!  :moreevil:

It does appear you are in a comic book when the the username BBCode is used, doesn't it?  Good connection!
It would seem from the reaction around here concerning my most admired friend "the username BBCode" that this isn't option isn't available at the variety of forums on the net...which is just one more reason LzD stands out among the choices.
I love that username BBCode!  If I had my way, I'd be able to use him in the subjectline...but that would make GR@PH;<'S grabby.  :x

Nope, don't care for Jim Carey movies, esp. those 3, but I did like the special effects in MASK, and thought The Truman Show was interesting.  Comedy movies aren't my first choice...much rather see Sci-Fi and Drama.

I can answer that!  I put two boneless/skinless chicken breasts in a backing dish, added a can of "no salt added" stewed tomatoes, some slices of onion, and a bit of garlic and popped it in the oven.  Cooked some ziti type pasta and mixed it in with the chicken.  Added a salad as a side-dish, served up the chicken & pasta and dinner was served.

TPBM gets up before 6 AM every weekday.

Nope, can't say that I've had a nap on the keyboard, but once many moons ago back in  1984, right before that cool Macintosh Super Bowl commercial (swinging the sledge hammer one) was aired, I got one of the first 128k Macintosh computers (still have it in a closet somewhere) and placed it on a rolling cart and rolled it up to my bed, so I could finish playing a game.
Fell asleep then...that's the closest to what looks like might have happened to someone YOU know!

(GR@PH;<'S, I saw your post of banger racing in the Word Association game...and have to admit I needed to goggle it.  Never been to one, (or even heard of it), or a demolition derby...I can see that they would be a rush to watch.  In my whole career as a person, I've attended 2 stock car races and one mud bog.  At this mud bog, I was sitting near the rail, got up to get a beer, and while at the beer stand, the next car jumped the "track" and planted itself in my seat.  Thank goodness for beer!  :tease:)

TPBM hears what, in the morning when they wake up and start their day?
Title: Re: TPBM - The Person Below Me
Post by: Skittles on February 28, 2006, 08:15:09 PM
These days?? Well, these days I hear hammering, drilling, and all kinds of banging around!!!  LOL  As I mentioned many times before, they are tearing down all of our balconies and putting in new ones.  They just started this week, to start the tear down process.

They have been starting around 6:45am!!!  They are supposed to start at 7am, which in my opinion is STILL TOO EARLY, but this morning it was a little earlier.

AND the balcony is at our bedroom and livingroom.  We have a balcony door to the balcony in both our livingroom and bedroom, so there isn't much chance of escaping the pounding.

It will take awhile before they are done.

But until then, normally I wake up to loud music...the radio.

I have to have the radio alarm.  Otherwise I would not wake up at all!  lol  Cuz I will train myself the sound of the alarm, and I will block it out...therefore, I won't hear it and won't wake up.  BUT I cannot train myself to block out the radio, since the sound is always different each time.  So I have to trick myself like that.  lol

Oh and Ripley...I just learned how to make Thai...YUM!!!

Now I just need to learn to make the peanut sauce, and the noodle dish with peanut sauce.  I just love that stuff!

TPBM prefers to eat out, rather then eat at home.

note...I'm having problems getting this to post, so maybe it will post twice.

hmmm let me think NO!

what is the weakest thing I could think of...maybe a feather?  That would be my nerves!

Ripley, I had some Martini here for ya.....shhhh it is for Mimmi when she comes over, cuz personally I hate it, but she loves it...but I won't tell if you take a swig of it..hehehe  :moreevil:  Also if you prefer, I have some wonderful Pear Cider (not cider like as in the apple cider juice you buy in a gallon or half gallon jug), this is great stuff with alcohol in it! And the taste?  YUM!  Altho right now the kind I have in the house is just 2.25%, I usually pick up a few at 7% alcohol!  hehehe

TPBM thinks that all of this talk about alcohol from me, ripley, graph, philsharp and anyone else I left out, means that we might be boosers! (I can answer for myself, I am all talk, but no show, when it comes to boose)  hehehe

I liked Ripleys question better....hehehe.

I HAD a different kind of animal then those mentioned, altho I did NOT get it at a Pet Store, as Graph mentioned.

I had rabbits.  My favorite one was named Skittles....thus my nick name here!  He was the cutest thing.  A dutch, was his breed.  He was an indoor pet, who was litter trained and we would occasionally (daily) let him out, to run around in the house!  Very cute...and very clean.

He was called skittles, due to how he would skiddle about.  He would just do a hop with a side kick, and skiddle across the floor like a wild fire, over here then another hop skip with a side kick and off to the other side of the room.

I liked the spelling of skittles better then skiddles.  hehehe

TPBM's favorite food is Pizza.

MASH...which I still watch!

I kinda liked Wonder Woman too!

My favorite cartoon was "Underdog" and "Hong Kong Phooey"

I also loved the doctor shows such as "Trapper John MD".  I was totally in love with the actor Gregory Harrison ....  Dr. George Alonzo 'Gonzo/Gonz' Gates on that show.  And "Marcus Welby MD" was another great doctor show!  I also liked "Quincy" a coroner show.

And ER shows...such as "Emergency" shown in the early 70's and Rescue 911 with William Shatner.

philsharp,

Wasn't sure if you meant the verb or the noun, so I'll say yes to both!  Music is big in my life...couldn't live w/o it.  I have it on constantly, and 90% of it is non-english for me.  I have more rock in my collection than I know what to do with, along w/ an equal amt of opera.  My 2 favs...go figure.

I prefer Yahoo Messanger, because you can leave offline messages.  BUT, the one thing I hate about yahoo messanger is that it will auto install yahoo toolbar....which is NOT a good thing to have.  You can bypass it and other automatic things they have set up with "regular install", by "custom installing".  BUT not all users know to do that.  So I DON'T like that they sneak that in.  Funny thing is, I don't currently have it on my pc.  lol  I find that a majority of ppl have msn messanger...and since I could only install one (since my hard drive is maxed), I chose that one.

LOL  she didn't ask if you "type" but rather "TP'ing".  Which is a practical joke that some don't find too funny, when ppl throw rolls of toilet paper into the trees of someones house.  I think it looks pretty cool.  Like white ribbon going thru the trees.  BUT it is a complete mess if it rains.  And it is quite the job to clean it up.

As for the last question.......if I dislike spicy food.  The answer is NO.  I love it. Well not TOO spicy.  But I recently fell in love with Thai food!  And learned how to cook it.  My first time, I had it a little too spicy.  It grows hair on your chest!  lol

I use that canned air and try to keep my keyboard clean from those dust bunnies.  But a colleague told me that he disconnects his keyboard, takes it in the shower w/ him, :blink1: waits til it's thoroughly dry, and then re-connects w/ no problems.  Now that is something I don't think is recommended.

I can get by on 6 hrs, probably average 7 hrs/night, but if I get less than that one thing I notice is when I type or write, that I will duplicate words in the same sentence.
Example: I went went to the store.    Don't notice it when I'm writing it, but only when I re-read it.  It's a good thing I dictate most of my documents, cuz I've not been getting enough of my zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's lately.

"How selfish of me....LETS do ALL things that YOUUUUUUUUU wanna do!" - Ace Ventura When Nature Calls  or from the same movie... "Weeeeell aren't I the popular guy?  Let ME show MY appreciation....." when Ace (Jim Carey) was being spit on by the huwachi (spelling) tribe, and he decides to cover them with one big...ewwww) OR "NOBODY messes with the DOOO........Don't just stand there, throw me a spear!!" the spear lands in his other leg, (he already had a spear sticking out of the one thigh) Ahhhhh Uhhhhhhh Ahhhhh Uhhhhhh "It's in the BONE" and lastly.........when he found out that the tribe worships the Great White Bat and whenever they here the word "Shicacka" they bow, he decides to mess with them and test their bowing..."Sh--ishkabob"...."Shisk--aredemption"....."Chi---CAGO" (when one bows he yells) "YOUR OUT OF HERE!"

Well okay, that was more then TWO......but I just LOVE those Ace Ventura Movies!  hehehe Actually all of Jim Carey's movies, except for Cable Guy and that Man from the Moon (I think that is the right name) the one when he played as that actor comedian from Taxi.

I don't know about better taste in music than you philsharp, (well maybe :tease: Flying Purple People Eater??)
We all have different favs I'm sure but one of my fav song lyrics was from the title song of the last Star Trek TV show Enterprise.  Written and previously sung by Diane Warren but made popular again by British opera vocalist Russell Watson.  Tenor cutie pie :flowers: that does a mean Nessun Dorma :moreevil:, but frequently blurs the lines between classical & contemporary rock/pop.

Cause I´ve got faith of the heart.
I´m going where my heart will take me.
I´ve got faith to believe. I can do anything.
I´ve got strength of the soul. And no one´s gonna bend or break me.
I can reach any star.

For those who can't remember or who haven't heard it here's a link to the above lyrics:
Where My Heart Will Take Me (Russell Watson) (http://exodus.interoutemediaservices.com/deliverMedia.asp?id=dd56e801-c258-46ef-b0c4-84164197298a&delivery=stream) (https://www.landzdown.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smileypad.com%2Fv224%2FHolidays%2FDJ.gif&hash=536103cf7b78c47ea86d7e1170b8e0f56965a6db)

(Anyone curious about hearing more of Watson , I posted a couple other links while I was practicing in the testing forum, one a short ad, and one doing the official England rugby anthem which he sang during the Rugby World Cup)

Well it just has to be an American TV channel so perhaps it was
Quote
an American Family cinematographer and co-director Alan Raymond watched The Surreal Life at the prompting of his family, including his wife and co-American Family filmmaker Susan Raymond, and was “fascinated by what he considered the low-rent way the show was made,” The New York Times reports. He says reality TV shows in general feature “ncredibly shoddy production values” and remarked about “[h]ow cheap this is; how amazing that it’s become acceptable that people will watch it. It’s almost like the content supersedes everything to do with the artistry of the making of the show.” The rest of the article discusses technology’s effects on the production of reality TV shows

nope, the first reality TV had SWEDISH ORIGINS IN 1997 called Expedition Robinson...later to be Survivor in the UK & US:http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/enc3/expedition_robinson (http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/enc3/expedition_robinson)

AND, the first Swedish contestant that was voted off committed suicide :(:
...Savija left his home in Norrkoping in central Sweden for a nearby railway crossing, and stepped into the path of a speeding commuter train. The 34-year-old had returned only four weeks previously from the remote island in Malaysia where he had been competing in Expedition: Robinson, the Swedish version of the reality gameshow that was to appear some years later in the UK as Survivor.

I did just do that not too long ago.  Remember what mitch had mentioned about spring cleaning/dust bunnies, but since the computer wasn't a yr old yet, didn't open it up until I heard a hum sound from the tower.  Was surprised at the dust (not alot tho) that was in there.  Used my canned air sprayer and no more hum.

 GUILTY AS CHARGED: I DO. (how'd you know, ripley???)
despite using surge protectors, i had a VCR and TV ZAPPED in electrical storms -- so i always am extra careful, with my electronics.

@as far as clairvoyant...my sixth sense is quite underdeveloped.
But here's a quesion?  You've had a VCR/TV zapped even WITH surge protectors?  OK, so what's up with that?  Surge protectors don't do as advertised?

Or is it the size/intensity of the storm? (https://www.landzdown.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg1.yoxio.com%2Fimg%2F237805.gif&hash=2f5812b59295590b509891c05528d5f7ab83f8c8)

 :hammy:
nope, i am an open book...
 :gwave:
YEP - had that stuff FRIED DEAD, even WITH surge protection. VCR and TV were killed off separately in TWO different storms.
-- these were during fairly bad electrical storms in texas. everything was fixed -- under warranty -- but i was upset that the surge protection didnt work... the techs told me they see TONS of dead electronics after each storm, that severe power spikes are too much for the units to handle... these were storms where lightening would make all the lights in the house FLASH bright for a few milli-seconds, then the electricity would go out, sometimes for very large areas...
ALSO, i had the equipment Powered ON... possibly wouldnt have died if their power was OFF, dont know...
- i took to turning off and UNPLUGGING equipment, in storms...
(some of the storms were BAD, lightening strikes on the ground, stories of people minding their own business, getting hit -- and i think even killed -- by lightening)

TPBM NEEDS TO TELL ME WHY, EVERY TIME I HIT AN APOSTROPHE NOW, I DONT GET ONE -- AND "FIND" COMES UP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN INSTEAD....?

ALSO, MY up-down-right-left arrows DOESNT WORK AT ALL...
YEEKS! is it ME... or is it LandZ???

...tpbe is ALSO shocked the surge protectors dont always work as advertised...

(WEIRD: my apostrophe and arrows WORK now... my computer has GHOSTS...)
