I would get it, but unfortunately my system won't support it.  It's not powerful enough.

I am beta testing RC1 on a computer at school, and all appears to be running smoothly.

There's lots of Vista-compatible antivirus software, including Avast, Sophos, F-Secure, Trend Micro, not to mention Windows Live One Care.  There may be others, but if not yet, they will be along soon enough.

Even before MS finally decided to give kernel access to the devs and some were ready to throw the towel in like Ilya; http://www.softsphere.com/articles/boycott-microsoft-windows-vista/ , I was thinking along the same lines as Jason_R0 when he said "What VISTA brings will just be another challenge." Ref; http://www.wilderssecurity.com/archive/index.php/t-107864.html

I've been watching the sec community meeting one MS challenge after another for more than a decade. The better devs would have overcome the challenges regardless, just like the malware propagators will also surely do. I'm almost disappointed in MS for giving in because I think it would have served to weed out the lessor devs of which there are many. JMO

I installed Vista on my 2005 desktop and am enjoying the new OS after a few adjustments.   :)
