July 11, 2006 will bring a close to Extended Support for Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows Me as part of the Microsoft Lifecycle Policy. Microsoft will retire public and technical support, including security updates, by this date.
Beta. Software undergoes beta testing shortly before it's released. Beta is Latin for 'still doesn't work.'

As expected but to no real avail AFAIK and along with a host of other loyal supporters as well since thoughtful and intelligent soft developers have stepped up to secure 98 and Me completely. Of course that reference is courtesy of the nice folks who engineered SYSTEM SAFETY MONITOR

They (SSM) couldn't have come along at a better time IMO.
