I had the FRST.exe saved to the desktop.  I copied and tried to paste into Notepad in my Documents folder with the intent to drag it to the desktop, not sure how to save it directly to the desktop.  However upon "Save As" I get the following warning, and do not know how to proceed.

Not sure it liked being poked around.  Had to reboot twice, took forever but everything seems to be working again...  log posted above.

The question now is whether the Netbook is faster that it was before.  By the way, we can also take a look at your Windows 8.1 laptop when we finish with the Netbook since you mentioned it is slow.

Not really impressed yet.  I finally got it working, and it did, still slow for a while.  I did a manager check and still have unwanted programs running in the background.  Then the battery stopped charging, apparently it needs a new battery (while I rarely use it, it is handy when the power goes out, as Orillia Power cannot seem to stop the power from winking off for a few seconds periodically, or sometimes longer). I do have it on my UPS for now.  However I have an additional problem, it spawns multiple instances of javaws.exe now until it runs out of processing or memory, and of course it barely moves along at all.  I think I am ready to brick this thing, take off my pictures and back them up.  I could try removing my Gomez Peer I suppose, and Java, I think that is all I have using that.  Of course that could be the thing creating problems with Java, I just have not had the time to mess with it.  I did have it working okay for a few weeks, but come the last update, it started spawning the javaws.exe again and I cannot get it to stop yet.

It couldn't hurt to remove Gomez Peer and Java, restart and see if that solves the problem.  You could always reinstall both.
