Build 10525 has been released to the Fast Ring.  Although there are issues with the build, one of the most requested changes is the option to change the default color for Start, Acton Center, Taskbar, and Title bars.  Although an early release of the feature is available in build 10525 by toggling Settings > Personalization > Colors.   Another feature improvement is Memory Management.  Read about the changes in Gabe Aul's post at Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10525 | Blogging Windows.

I'm guessing that most "Insiders" are long time computer users that weren't overjoyed about "metro" apps.
My wife jumped the gun on Win 10, and now wants me to get back her "touch enabled" Internet Explorer.

So do others:

Based on the answer they got, we need some "insiders" to advocate for the "mouse challenged" who learned on Windows 8.X.

BTW: I found a hack, but it comes with a disclaimer, and it was developed for a build that was current last October.

I'm reluctant to use it on someone else's  computer, especially someone I'm married to. :)

A lot has changed since October and I'd be reluctant as well.  There are a lot of complaints about touch.  Instructions are available for reverting here:  Recovery options in Windows 10 - Windows Help.  If you revert to Windows 8, you can always watch for improvements in touch features for IE and she can always upgrade to Windows 10 again before next July 29.

As to the new build, I found that System Restore was not enabled by default and the settings I had made for driver updates wasn't respected either.

I offered to revert to Windows 8. That's not what she wants.
But she misses her "tile sized" bookmarks.

"But she misses her "tile sized" bookmarks."

Would this accomplish what she wants: Open Microsoft Edge, go to the page you want on Start, click/tap the "..." in the upper-right, then Pin to Start.

Corrine

I haven't used it so don't know if it would accomplish what she wants but there is Start10, the first Windows 10 Start menu alternative! ($4.99USD).

Not exactly what I did, but I did something similar with IE.
Doing that for every bookmark, isn't the answer.

I haven't used IE since version 6.
I'm waiting until the complaints die down before upgrading to Win 10.
I only see her computer when I visit her business.

Is there a way to make the Favicons really big? That may help a "mouse challenged" person.

The Start Menu isn't the problem.
I already found a setting that replaces the new start menu with Start Screen tiles superimposed on the desktop (but they scroll vertically instead of horizontally). She's fine with that. (next time I may see if she likes "tablet mode" better).

Her problem is the loss of the "metro" IE, and it's tile sized bookmarks.
If that scripting hack works/worked, it probably still exists, but MS needs to enable it.

Just reporting an article (NOT any first-hand experience):

the 64-bit version of Chrome... does not run on Windows 10 build 10525.

This applies to the Insider Program:  whether on the primary partition or dual booting, to be able to install the newer builds from scratch (or clean install), an Insider must have already upgraded to Windows 10 build 10240 and activated it on that device. Additional information here:  Post RTM Windows 10 Insider builds are keyless, but only on a previously activated device
