I chose to download an ISO update today as I have a number of systems that need to be upgraded.

The desktop system failed to update because of a third party security software. I uninstalled the third party software and the update ran with no problems. This is the same issue as the original Win 10 update, fix disable or uninstall (recommended third part security programs) anti-virus or firewalls.

Other obvious issues noted:

Edge extensions not showing in Windows store at this time, if using the get extensions option from within the Edge Browser.

This system is a fully upgraded Win 8.1 system, no Windows preview ever used or installed on it. Windows is activated, but in bright red lettering, it states "Your insider preview build settings need attention. Go to Windows Insider Program to fix this issue." located under Windows updates. Did Microsoft fail to remove the insider preview from the full version upgrade? Does this mean the wrong ISO is being distributed on Get windows 10 or the sight has a preview ISO loaded?

I don't have the answer, a bug or just overlooked.

I will test it, but will roll this system back, because I have no plans to run a preview edition on it. I have never used a Microsoft account with this system, it is local only account. I do have another system I run a preview on.

If you are going to do a single system, you can go to Settings, updates and then learn more, you will be taken to this page:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12387/windows-10-update-history?ocid=update_setting_client

It has get the anniversary update option.

As far as the "Your insider preview build settings need attention. Go to Windows Insider Program to fix this issue." if you even click on the Windows insider program Option to view it, in Updates and Security, you are going to have this ugly red error, so it is a bug, even if you aren't opting in and just looking.

Thank you. I upgraded my computer from this page this morning. Everything seems to run OK since now.

To clarify Edge extensions not showing in Windows store at this time, if using the get extensions option from within the Edge Browser.

When you go to the Windows store you will receive a blank page. You can search for an extension if you know what your looking for i.e. adblock, but I feel the store should show a list of available extensions in the store page that you are taken to, if you are using the get extensions, from within Edge. The store as well doesn't have a extension category for Edge. I kind of think it needs to be readily available, not a you guess, what is available. It is located in the App category, if you search, but lacks to list anything, for an average user. You will have to guess and spend time searching for the extensions.

At this point Edge still doesn't impress me, and I will continue to use my preferred browser.

I didn't have any problem finding AdBlock Plus (from within Edge), but.....
It looked like they finally had a provision for importing bookmarks/favorites from Firefox, but it didn't work (at least not for me).

There's at least one website, that opens fine in Firefox (or IE), but in Edge I get ...
"Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /search.php on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."
.

Pete I understand you can do a search and find adblock plus, but can you tell me or anyone else what are all of the extensions that are readily available for Edge. If you don't know that a extension is available it's kind of hard to search for it.
I'm sure I can search and find most all of them using a search engine, but you cannot find any listed in the MS store, using a direct link from the browser itself. As I stated an average everyday user isn't going to know what is available or type in and search for individual extensions. Why even have get extensions if you are directed to a blank page? Maybe it's not finished, but little things and attention to details do make a difference.

I think it should direct a user to all Edge available extensions, not a blank page at the store. It is a extension, for a specific browser, it really doesn't fit into a general app category.

What I consider a major bug for the insider preview, wouldn't have been seen because everyone until the final release was a insider. I don't really think the insider or the developer option needs to sit main stream, in Updates and Security. These are advanced features, not the average user feature. I really don't know why they even changed the location of the insider preview.

Pete!

OK, I knew which extension I wanted, and searched for it....
BUT
1. click on the 3 dots
2. click on "Extensions"
3. Click on "Get extensions from Store"
4. Wait a few seconds until an arrow and number (39) appear
5. Click on the Arrow/number

Is that what you were looking for?... Or is that something else?
Either way ... I agree... Still not ready for prime time.

techie

I know how to get to the store page. It just isn't ready yet, I would guess. The listed number are installed apps on your system.

What I'm looking for and everyone should expect to see, is a full list of extensions available at the Edge get extensions link. It's just not ready, you are being linked to a blank store page. It should be showing a full list of all of these available apps.

https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/extensions/#available-extensions

Even if you click on the link to visit the extensions collections page, the result is the same a blank page.

It is touted as a major upgrade to Edge, but not ready to be fully supported by the store, left didn't talk to the right side.

I am able to see on Version 1607, OS Build 14393.10 by doing the following:

Open Microsoft Edge and select More (...) > Extensions > Get extensions from the Store.
Select the extension you want, and select Free to install it.
Once the installation is complete, switch back to Microsoft Edge.
Read the notification about what the extension will be allowed to do, and select Turn on.

Pete!

Is that an "Insider" build?
The one I got yesterday is Build 14393 (without the  ".10").
MS update tells me I'm "up to date".

If I follow the steps you described, I get an "empty store", unless I search or take further action(s).

Maybe we'll see an improvement after the next update.

Yes, I'm running the Insider Build but extensions should still be available.  That said, I just happened to see this on Twitter:  https://twitter.com/benriga/status/761304532802416640, "If you are having issues installing Extensions in Microsoft Edge help us track that bug down..." which leads to this thread:  Windows Store Edge Extension Installation Issues - Microsoft Community.

I'm not having a problem installing...
I knew which extension I wanted, and found it by searching.
It installed without a problem.

Now that I understand what Techie was saying, I can say I have the same symptom ... The empty "store" page that comes up.

If I hadn't known which extension I wanted, I would have had to go to a website that listed the Edge compatible extensions to find out what's available.

If your "insider build" shows the available extensions on the store page, I'm assuming that a future update will make finding which extensions are available less difficult.

Interesting, I'm NOT running any insider build, but the settings About screen says I have:

Edition: Windows 10 Home
Version: 1607
OS Build: 14393.10

Seems to be what Corrine has ...

I get a blank screen in Edge as well.

I stand corrected.

I was getting my version/build from
System Information:
"Version   10.0.14393 Build 14393"

If I open Settings, it looks like yours:
"Version: 1607
OS Build: 14393.10"

I'll probably continue to use FireFox for the foreseeable future.
After my wife gets the update, I'll add AdBlock Plus to her copy of Edge, so she can use it's more "touch friendly" interface, while avoiding the hundreds of tracking cookies that it accumulates without protection.

I have the same build, the link between the Edge browser (Get extensions from the store) and the store is broken. It takes you to the store, but only a blank page is displayed (nothing is displayed about extensions), you do not see any icons or display of available extensions. Searching for a specific extension works and they are available, in the store, if you know what extension you want. The extension installation to Edge or there function isn't a problem.

I'm sure many others will have the same problem.
