Can anyone tell me why the avatar I am using today wont animate when applied but...will
if added to this thread or to any other forum? thank you

The image is much larger than the maximum allowed size.  As a result it is resized when uploaded and resizing changes it from a GIF to a PNG.

I changed my avatar (...for a few hours) to see that it works. Unfortunately, it's not a black cat, Corrine.  ;) :D

Sure. There are step by step instructions here: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/72020/resizing-an-animated-gif/, but I just use the online Gif resizer: https://ezgif.com/resize

??? I forgot how I use the BBCode extension for the links. I have to remember it to use it.
