Is this also true for Palemoon? I'll answer that. The updater had an update and when I selected it, it removed itself from Palemoon.

Not sure how I feel about this - yet. There does not seem to be an easy way to determine if the installed version of uBO is the most recent. I say, "not sure" because it was not something I worried about, or even checked, before. I'm confusing myself. ???

The warning was for legacy versions of uBlock Origin; that is, those of us using it on Pale Moon rather that current versions of Firefox that uses WebExtensions. Checking Tools>Add-ons, uBlock Origin was last updated February 10 to version 1.16.4.17. On Edge Dev, extensions shows version 1.23.0.

I see the same things, Corrine.

@satrow - I see those too but neither shows if those versions are the most recent available and neither have a "Check for updates" link.

One thing that just surprised me with the Edge version is that uBO was disabled. I don't know when that happened - nothing yelled at me. And when I tried to move the slider over to enable it again, I got a pop-up that said,

Lower image, see the dropdown. Same Settings cog is also on individual Add-ons pages.

With automatic updates on, my guess is that the classic version of uBlock Origin will update when the version has been compatibility-checked.

Pale Moon checks at startup, it's a common feature with browsers, security being paramount.

Hmmm, it still show .17 in my PM and in Edge it is 1.23.0.
