Quote from: mare_wbpa on August 22, 2025, 10:19:16 PMI have no explanation, but just before I came to here, I opened the Gallery and found that about 95% of the photos had just 1 copy of each. As far as I know, all I have done is take screen shots and rt click on a few to find  properties or show more options listed in the menus. I checked again, there is no properties or show more options listed in the menus. As of now I happily don't have a problem, but the way it's been going, that doesn't mean that I won't be back to square one tomorrow. I might be back sooner than you want to see me. I thank everyone who in any way attempted to help me with my limited computer skills. I'm 79 and feel fortunate to be able to turn this machine on and find my way here. I know that I always find friendly people here, who go over and above to help. Thanks again.

I never attach, download, copy or paste anything into Gallery. I just happened onto the file or folder or whatever it's called sometime after I got the computer. If I download or save anything from another source, it always goes into an appropriately named folder. Thank you for the invitation for the future if I  need you. You're my safety net.

I wish that I could have mastered getting a screenshot into this message box. I've tried since I sent the thank you post. It drives me crazy when something I try fails. I enjoy learning new tasks.

Let's try once more.

Mare, click on the Reply button under my reply.

After that, drag the screenshot you took into the reply area.

Tried dragging the screenshot into the reply area, no go.

Paddy

Just a thought try right clicking on screenshot and select copy then go reply area and right click again and then select paste..

Let's see if that's going to work for you mare_wbpa

I tried your latest suggestion and it didn't work. I take the screenshot as per instructions. I get a message that it was copied to the clipboard. The clipboard is in the tray under the screen. As soon as I place the cursor over it, the screenshot disappears. I googled how to take a screenshot and the instructions say to press ctrl+V after taking the screenshot to place it where I want it, and that didn't work either. Obviously there is a way to do it, because I accidentally got one into a previous post, but I don't know how it happened. Unfortunately I didn't take a shot of the entire screen. At least I learned how to take a shot of the entire screen, so I did learn something. Just can't get to post it deliberately.

Mare,

You must save the screenshot on your Desktop before you try to drag it in your reply.

If you used the snip tool, you must go and click on the Save icon and save the screenshot taken on to the Desktop.

Then, just follow my instructions in my previous post.

And something else:

As I explained above a couple of times, the attachment of the pictures here doesn't include a copy/paste task.

So, after you save the screenshot, you must click on the Reply button and then click on the Click or drag files here to attach them button.

I did that, and it still didn't work.

Mare,

Is your Gallery folder looks like mine? See my attachment.

You cannot view this attachment.

Sorry, I thought that we had all given up on my issue. It's not a big deal to me, unless you think that it is. I see  that there are a couple more posts about the gallery thing. I haven't thought about it in a while, so, I have to review and get up to speed again. It's going to take me a while to catch up. I'll go over things and get back to you.I appreciate your help.
